From 350 Startups to the Global Stage: Codepresso's GITEX Asia Journey

At GITEX Asia 2026, more than 350 startups from around the world competed to showcase the next generation of AI innovation.

Singapore has become one of Asia's leading technology hubs, hosting some of the region's largest innovation events, including GITEX Asia.

This year, the GITEX Asia Supernova Challenge brought together 350 startups from around the world, each competing to showcase breakthrough technologies and ambitious visions for the future.

Codepresso was one of them.

A relatively small team from South Korea, standing alongside startups from across the globe.

Looking back, this wasn't simply a story about winning an award. It was a journey filled with unexpected moments, intense competition, and validation that what we're building has global relevance.

From start to finish, it felt a little like a startup survival show.

The Question That Defined Everything

During the final pitch, one judge asked:

"There are already plenty of AI tools on the market. Why does the world need AI capability assessment?"

It's a fair question.

Organizations already have access to ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, and countless other AI solutions.

Many have invested heavily in enterprise licenses. Employees are receiving AI training.

So why measure AI capability?

Our answer was simple. Because buying AI tools doesn't automatically change how people work.

The Real Challenge Isn't AI Adoption

Across industries, organizations are investing millions of dollars in AI.

Employees receive access to new tools. Training programs are launched. Pilot projects begin.

Yet many organizations still struggle to generate measurable business value.

Why?

Because technology isn't the bottleneck. People are.

If employees continue working exactly as they did before, AI simply becomes another application on their desktop.

Real AI transformation requires something much more fundamental: Changing how people think, make decisions, and perform their work.

Why Capability Matters More Than Technology

Two organizations can purchase the exact same AI platform.

One transforms how work gets done. The other sees almost no measurable improvement.

The difference isn't the technology. It's workforce capability.

Do employees understand where AI creates value?

Can they recognize unreliable AI outputs?

Do they know how to redesign workflows instead of simply completing existing tasks a little faster?

Those capabilities, not software licenses, determine whether AI delivers business impact.

That's why Codepresso starts with measurement.

Before organizations decide what training they need, they first need to understand where they stand today.

Measuring What Actually Matters

At Codepresso, we believe successful AI transformation begins with visibility.

AI capability assessment provides organizations with measurable insights into workforce readiness, helping leaders answer questions such as:

  • Which teams are ready to adopt AI at scale?
  • Where are the largest capability gaps?
  • Which departments need targeted training?
  • How should AI transformation be prioritized across the organization?

Rather than relying on assumptions, organizations can make decisions based on objective workforce data.

Validation Beyond the Competition

Being recognized among hundreds of startups was certainly meaningful. But what mattered most was something else.

The judges understood the problem we were trying to solve.

Around the world, organizations are realizing that AI transformation isn't primarily a technology challenge.

It's a workforce challenge. That realization reinforced our belief that AI capability assessment isn't simply another HR tool.

It's a critical foundation for successful AI transformation.

Building a Global Standard for AI Capability

Today, Codepresso works with organizations across multiple countries, helping enterprises measure AI capability, identify workforce gaps, and accelerate AI adoption.

Our long-term vision is straightforward.

Just as standardized language assessments transformed how organizations measure English proficiency, we believe AI capability should also have a trusted, objective benchmark.

Imagine asking: "How AI-ready is your organization?"

And answering that question with measurable data rather than opinion.

That's the future we're working toward.

Editor's Note: AI Transformation Starts with People

At GITEX Asia, what inspired us wasn't simply the latest AI technology, it was the future that technology can help people create.

Tools enable change, but people drive it.

At Codepresso, we'll continue building solutions around one simple belief:

People, not Tools.

Because when people develop the right AI capabilities, they don't just adopt AI—they unlock their full potential.
